Okigwe South Rep Seat: NDC Candidate Engr. Duruibe Champions Girl-Child Education
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Okigwe South Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat, Engr. Queen Oluchi Duruibe, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting girl-child education as a key pillar of her legislative agenda.
Speaking during interactions with stakeholders in the constituency, Duruibe stressed that investing in the education of girls remains one of the most effective ways to build stronger families, reduce poverty, and accelerate community development.
According to her, every girl deserves access to quality education, a safe learning environment, and equal opportunities to develop her talents without discrimination.
“If elected, I will champion policies and programmes that remove barriers preventing girls from accessing education, encourage school enrolment and retention, and support initiatives that empower young women with the skills they need to succeed,” she said.
The engineer-turned-politician noted that education remains the foundation for sustainable development, adding that empowering the girl child ultimately strengthens society as a whole.
Duruibe, who recently emerged as the NDC candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election for Okigwe South Federal Constituency, has consistently identified education, youth development, women’s empowerment, infrastructure renewal, and quality representation as priorities of her campaign.
She called on parents, traditional institutions, religious leaders, civil society organisations, and government agencies to work together in ensuring that every child, especially the girl child, has the opportunity to acquire quality education and fulfil her potential.
