On September 14, 2023 Ikoro Okigwe (Nigeria) Limited was incorporated under the companies allied matters act of 2020 engaged in the business of publishing Newspaper, Magazine and periodicals. It was established to educate, inform, develop the society and entertain Nigerians and world at large.
On September 14, 2023, the media company made its debut with a weekly Newspaper publication with a banner led story Okigwe South Rep Seat: Why Tribunal Sacked PDP, declares APC Winner.
Managing Editor of the media company is a seasoned Owerri base Journalist Iheanyi Enwerem, while the founder of the company is High Chief Sir PMC Okeke, both hail from Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria.
IKORO OKIGWE VISION AND MISSION:
We are conscious of the myriad of problems that have plagued the overall development of Okigwe zone in Imo State, over the years. These are both structural and physical. With only six local government areas, out of the 27 in Imo, the region seems to be marginalized in the scheme of things when compared with Orlu and Owerri that have 12 and 9 respectively.
Furthermore the geographical spread of Okigwe people from Ihube in the North to Umungwa in the South does not give our people favorable and conducive environment for social interaction. It is for these reasons that Ikoro Okigwe Newspaper has come into existence. Our major objective is to weld our people into a homogeneous family that can speak with one voice at all fora irrespective of whether you are from Obowo, Ihitte Uboma, Ehime Mbano, Isiala Mbano, Onuimo or Okigwe local government area.
In fostering this pursuit we will be completely apolitical as Ikoro Okigwe tabloid is not the brain-child of any professional politician or that of a political activist. Rather, the vision belongs to some well-meaning sons and daughters of Okigwe zone who are worried, that uptil now we have not been able to meet the dreams and expectations of our founding fathers since the precolonial era.
In carrying out our assignment we want to assure our reading public and admirers that we are not going to be confrontational either with government or our sister zones of Orlu and Owerri.
We believe that with constant dialogue, a sense of humility and responsibility the people of Okigwe zone can achieve a lasting peace and prosperity within the shortest possible period. Please stay glued with Ikoro Okigwe publications.
