A group of Ihitte-Uboma indigenes in the diaspora has endorsed Sir Chima Bishop Okereke, popularly known as Ekurume, the African Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for the Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

Speaking on the endorsement, Austin “Sharpsharp” Ndukwe, former President of IHITTE USA, Houston, Texas, and current Vice President of Okigwe Progressive Assembly (OPA), Houston, Texas, described Ekurume as a “tested and trusted candidate” for the constituency.
Ndukwe, who is based in the United States of America, said the endorsement reflects the confidence of members of the Ihitte-Uboma diaspora in Ekurume and their desire for effective representation at the National Assembly.
He urged constituents and other stakeholders to carefully consider the candidates seeking to represent the constituency, while calling on Ihitte-Uboma indigenes at home and abroad to remain actively engaged in the political process.
Ndukwe further said the diaspora community would continue to contribute to conversations concerning the development and political future of Ihitte-Uboma and the wider Okigwe South Federal Constituency.
