Sydney-Jack was among distinguished personalities recognised at the festival’s award night on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for their contributions to promoting Nigerian culture, heritage and values.

Her recognition reflects her longstanding contributions to broadcasting, journalism and gender advocacy, particularly her efforts to advance women’s rights, promote gender equality and encourage greater female participation in leadership and decision-making across Africa.

Over the years, Sydney-Jack has leveraged her media platforms to amplify conversations around gender inclusion and address challenges confronting women in Nigerian society.

The Nollywood Cultural Heritage Festival, organised in collaboration with the House Committee on Commerce, celebrates individuals and organisations committed to preserving and promoting Nigeria’s cultural identity.

Speaking at the event, the festival’s founder and president, Agility Onwurah, said the initiative had spent 14 years celebrating African culture and preserving the continent’s heritage.

Other recipients at the 2026 edition included Professor Munachimso Stella, who received the title Adabuzo; Okiemute Mrakpo, named Ambassador of African Culture; Nnena Njoku, conferred with the title International Ambassador of African Culture; and Dr Queen Dillion, who received the title Ugosimba.
