House of Representatives member representing Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma,Obowo at the National Assembly, Hon. Dcn. Chike Okafor, has called for a robust partnership with the United Nations for a sustainable agricultural development and food security.
He disclosed this when he visited UN office in Abuja on Wednesday, where he met the  WFP Representative and Country Director, Dr David Stevenson, who equally serves as the representative to ECOWAS, alongside his team.
The ranking House of reps member, met with the World Food Programme representative and country Director, Dr David Stevenson, who equally serves as the representative to ECOWAS, alongside his team.
The meeting was very fruitful as it focused on the WFP ongoing collaboration with the House of Representatives Committee on Nutrition and Food Security, and possible collaboration between WFP and the government of Imo State, in any area (s) of mutual interests and benefits that will immensely add to the economic growth of the State.
The Two time performing lawmaker was accompanied to the meeting by the Chief Consultant to the Committee on Nutrition, Dr John Onyeokoro, an Imo State born, who is also the immediate past Executive Secretary of Imo State Health Insurance Scheme.
