The South East Coordinator for reserved seats for women advocacy coalition Dr. Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, has called on South East women to turn out enmasse during the review of the 1999 constitution as amended to champion for the rights of women to occupy a percentage of seats in both National and State Assembly, including been appointed in various political offices as they are a critical mass needed for nation building.

Following the Senate hearings, the House of Representatives Committee on the Constitution Amendment Review is set to continue the process with public hearings scheduled from July 11th to July 21st.

IKORO OKIGWE gathered that South East states, Imo and Abia will convene at Land Mark Event Centre, Owerri, while Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states at the International Conference center, Independence Layout, Enugu.

Dr. Adaora stated that the Nigeria’s 10th Parliament is poised to prioritize women’s political representation in all stratas of government.
