In a major boost to Nigeria’s educational landscape, the Federal University Okigwe has officially been listed among the newly approved universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The approval, which is part of the government’s commitment to expanding access to quality tertiary education across the country, has been greeted with excitement and celebration by the people of Okigwe Zone and Imo State at large.
Residents and stakeholders have expressed profound gratitude to Senator Patrick Ndubueze, who championed the cause, and to all National Assembly members whose collective efforts made the vision a reality.
According to community leaders, the establishment of the university represents not only a fulfillment of a long-standing dream but also a catalyst for educational advancement and economic development in the region.
The Federal University Okigwe is expected to commence academic activities soon in line with the National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines, with details on its take-off arrangements and pioneer management to be announced in due course.
