Prophet Chibueze Hazel Akwiwu has urged Nigerians not to panic over recent comments by Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, concerning the possibility of a Muslim-Muslim ticket in Nigeria’s political space.
Akwiwu, while reacting to the cleric’s statement, described it as a “spirit of error,” alleging that the cleric had been manipulated.
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not come to power to pursue a religious agenda, stressing that God is directing the President towards good governance and national development.
“Nobody should panic concerning the statement of the Muslim cleric on Muslim-Muslim ticket. That is a spirit of error; he was manipulated,” Akwiwu said.
He maintained that previous attempts to undermine the Tinubu administration through what he described as an “insult format” had failed, arguing that the current debate over a Muslim-Muslim ticket would also not succeed in derailing the administration.
“They came with insult format, it did not hold ground. Now they have come with Muslim-Muslim ticket; it will not still hold ground,” he stated.
The prophet further called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, particularly between Christians and Muslims, saying that Muslims should not be viewed as a threat to good governance.
“As a spiritual man, I’m telling you that Muslims in Nigeria are not a threat to good governance,” he said.
Akwiwu, however, went further to express his Christian belief that Muslims would eventually embrace Christianity, citing passages from the Bible, including Acts 28:28 and Romans 9:30–33, in support of his position.
He appealed to Nigerians to remain calm and focus on good governance, development and peaceful coexistence rather than allowing religious sentiments to deepen divisions in the country.
