The Imo State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (IMOSACA) has intensified its engagement with strategic partners in strengthening community-level HIV/AIDS interventions across the State, with a high-level advocacy visit to the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN) today, 10 August 2026.
Led by the Director General, Dr. Chidinma Okoro, the IMOSACA delegation sought CCFN’s support in some areas requiring urgent attention: community HIV Testing Services (HTS) in a community in Ngor-Okpala LGA following reports of recent HIV transmission; a SACA/LACA/LGA Orientation Officers meeting aimed at strengthening and scaling up community-level HIV/AIDS sensitization and awareness creation.
The delegation comprised the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Community Mobilization Officer and other members of the Agency’s team. Responding to the advocacy, Dr. Jonathan Olarenwaju, State Team Lead, CCFN, expressed the Foundation’s readiness to support and collaborate with IMOSACA, particularly as the Agency formalizes its requests and advances the identified priority interventions.
The engagement reinforces IMOSACA’s commitment to strategic partnership, community ownership and coordinated action in driving HIV prevention, testing, sensitization and awareness across Imo State. The Agency remains committed to working with CCFN and other stakeholders to ensure that community-level interventions are strengthened and that collective efforts translate into greater impact in the State’s HIV/AIDS response.
