Justice Binta Fatima Nyako of the Federal High Court has issued a restraining order, barring parties involved in the suit filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and three others from granting press interviews.
The order, issued on Friday, comes after Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), complained that Akpoti-Uduaghan was granting press interviews on issues related to the case, despite it being pending before the court.
Justice Nyako’s ruling explicitly states that no party or counsel shall grant press interviews or engage in streaming the proceedings on social media. This decision aims to maintain the integrity of the case and prevent external influences.
