According to him, the appointments were based on merit, noting that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are experienced and qualified civil servants with proven track records.

“When you look inwards, you will see that the appointment by our beloved Governor is based on merit. All the 20 persons are well qualified,” he said.

The Commissioner further commended Governor Uzodimma for ensuring that the appointments were spread across different areas, rather than concentrating them in one section of the state.

“And the Governor did not concentrate in one area; he ensured that it was decentralised. That’s leadership,” Chukemeka added.

He urged the newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries to justify the confidence reposed in them by bringing their wealth of experience to bear in the service of the state.

He also charged them to support and promote the Shared Prosperity Agenda of the Uzodimma administration through effective and dedicated service to the people of Imo State.

It would be recalled that the Imo State Government recently appointed and swore in 20 civil servants as Permanent Secretaries.
