The Office of the Deputy Governor Imo State, has appointed Pastor Chris Akushie, as the Principal Secretary,(Covering Duty) of the office, following the retirement of Mr. John Njoku.

 

Akuchie, a level 16 officer, prior to his appointment served as Director of Information.

Speaking at a maiden meeting held with staff of the office on Monday,10,March,2025, at the Conference room of the Office of the Deputy Governor.

He appreciated the Deputy governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, PhD, for considering him competent Principal Secretary for her office, while thanking the Deputy Governor for the appointment.

He appealed to staff to be disciplined in their official assignments,while calling for punctuality to work especially from Mondays to Fridays. He hinted that soon State government will introduce  clock-in clock-out technology to checkmate workers in the State.

 

Akushie consequently warned against lateness and absenteeism, especially on Mondays, as according to him, the Governor and Head of Service are particular about coming to work on Mondays.

 

He solicited the support and cooperation of the staff, to enable him succeed in his new office, while promising to do his best to promote and protect the welfare of the staff.
