The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady (Dr) Chinyere Ekomaru,has reiterated that health is wealth for a society striving for progressive development,adding that the State Government ably led by Gov. Hope Uzodimma,has demonstrated his vision towards keeping Imolites fit and healthy by creating an enabling environment for all.

 

Lady Ekomaru made this disclosure, when the Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria,(MDCAN) Owerri Branch, paid her a courtesy visit at the Office of the Deputy Governor, on Tuesday.

 

” I am so excited having consultants coming to collaborate with the State Government to actualize it’s vision for a substanable health care for all Imolites”. Ekomaru

 

The Number two citizen hinted that Governor Uzodimma who declared free healthcare welfare for civil servants in the State,has also extended same gesture to some organizations and Imolites who wish to queue in to the system.

 

She opined that the collaboration will help checkmate patients with medical cases during and after medical outreach programmes in the State, and their message will be communicated to the Governor and also the wife who is currently championing the end to female genital mutilation.

 

 

Dr. Nkiruka Chinedu-Anunaso, MDCAN Chairman Owerri branch, in her speech thanked the Deputy Governor for the warm reception giving to the association,stating that the desire of the association is to collaborate with the State government to deliver good health care to Imolites, stressing that patients who still need consultation after been treated during an outreach in the State can be refered to the Federal Teaching Hospital,Owerri.

 

A former Health Commissioner in the State and a member of the association, Dr. Pat Okorochukwu,added that they are impressed with the vision and programmes of the government,stating that as they support the government, they are also in need for government to support the association.
