Calls on stakeholders to support new Rector

Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and his Deputy Dr. Mrs Chinyere Ekomaru, has joined other well-meaning Imolites and Nigerians to congratulate the new Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Dr. (Mrs) Basilia Igbokwe, as the 9th Rector of the institution, following her appointment by  President Bola Tinubu.

The Imo State Governor, expressed his happiness  on the appointment through his Deputy at the inauguration of the Dr. Mrs. Igbokwe at the critical of learning,last Tuesday, he asked the new Rector to embrace all relevant stakeholders to achieve success while charging the school to curb all social vices that have bedeviled many institutions of higher learning and to also embrace new technologies in teaching and learning in order to create wealth and opportunities.

In a press release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Dr. Charles Uzopuo, and made available to Ikoro Okigwe,

 

The Government scribe said,”Today, as you know, marks a new dawn in the history of this great and enviable citadel of higher learning, to continue to attain greatness. It also presents a rare opportunity and tasking responsibility to the substantive Rector, Dr. (Mrs) Basilia Igbokwe, to commence the match to join previous administrators whose portraits are displayed both physically and spiritually, in the Polytechnic’s hall of fame.

 

“The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, is one of the premier Polytechnic in Nigeria, known for quality education, excellent innovations in both vocational and technical education and reputed for churning out full baked graduates, who have impacted positively in the socioeconomic terrain of Nigeria. You must therefore, continue on that excellent and remarkable trajectory and try if you can improve upon it.

 

In a brief remark, the new Rector, emphasized that she will work with all stakeholders to take the institution to an enviable height, while thanking Mr. President Bola Tinubu and the Governor, for her appointment.
