With the clamour for more major stakeholders in Imo State to join in the process of developing the area, an American base medical practitioner Dr. Kelechi Ononuju has formally joined the All Progressives Congress,APC.

Dr. Okereke who is a young vibrant philanthropist and hails from Abazu Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the State, stated this while interacting with major stakeholders from his area led by APC Mbaitoli Apex Leader, Chief Marcilinus Nlemigbo, alongside the council Chairman of Mbaitoli, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegbo, Councilors from the 12 wards of the area, among others, adding that the time has come when entrepreneurs should not relax hoping that it is only the government that can bring dividends of democracy to our people.
The event also featured the finals of the football tournament organized by Dr. Kelechi Ononuju foundation, between Ndi-Owerre vs Umuishii.


He further stated that his foundation is a nongovernmental organization, that focuses on empowering youths and assisting the needy in the society, also to complement the vision of the 3R shared prosperity administration the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The APC Apex Leader of Mbaitoli, Chief Nlemigbo commended Dr. Kelechi Ononuju Okereke for coming home to assist in the development of Mbaitoli and Imo State in general.
In same speech the Chairman of Mbaitoli, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegbo said that Dr. Okereke is a household name in the local government, and praised him for all his efforts at empowering the youths.

Others present include, former Imo House of Assembly member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataronye, Chief Dr. Melford Ekechukwu,Sir Henry Ogajiaku,among others.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the Kelechi Ononuju Okereke tournament cup to Ndi-Owerre who won their opponent Umuishii on penalties.
