It was beehive of activities at Obiakpo Umunoha community in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, as family, friends, community leaders, political and business associates all joined the Deputy Governor of the State Lady Chinyere Ekomaru and family for church outing thanksgiving over victory of Governor Hope Uzodimma and herself at the polls.
The event which was held at St .Barnabas Anglican Church, the hometown church of the Deputy Governor, was filled to the brim as different class of personalities both from Imo and outside the State converged in their numbers to celebrate with the number two family.
In a sermon the Prelate of Anglican Communion, Arch Bishop Dr. Henry Ndukuba ,taking his scripture from John 20:19, hinted that God has a way of solving every life threatening situation. He likened the Deputy Governor as Deborah in the Bible.
’The church will continue to pray for you and the Governor for the success of the administration cause it is Gods favor that has brought you so far’’. Said Anglican Prelate
Governor Hope Uzodimma during his address said the occasion is designed to thank God almighty for their victory at the polls, and also to pour out their intentions to God to give both him and his Deputy the wisdom to face the task ahead in making Imo state better.
He said that recently obstacles faced by his administration in his first tenure is drastically fading away, ‘’Our people must learn how to shun evil.
‘’ I am not unaware of the expectations of our people, I know that the task before us is overwhelming, but I will leave Imo better than I met it’’.
The Deputy Governor Lady Chinyere Ekomaru and husband Sir Chukwuma Ekomaru expressed their indebtedness to the Governor for remembering their family, according to Lady Ekomaru she will serve the Imolites for the greatness of the State.
