The re-elected Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma has vowed that his second tenure as a helmsman in the affairs of Eastern Heartland will be a good story adding that, “I will work for Imolites”.

Speaking in an emotion laden voice at a Thanksgiving service held at the Victory Chapel at the Government House, Owerri the Governor who was accompanied by his wife Lady Chioma Uzodimma and other top government officials and dignitaries emphasized that, “Imo State will be on the news again, not for bad but for good tidings that will enhance the living standard of our people”.

Answering a question on his role model in politics especially as it affect Imo since it’s creation, the Governor who was highly humbled said that ” My administration in the second tenure may not be like that of Dee Sam Mbakwe but I will do my best to ensure that I attend his standard in governing our people”.

Senator Uzodimma added that his landslide victory at the Nov 11, 2023 election has vindicated his story in the 2019 general election. He said in 2019 he won the election but unfortunately 388 polling units were excluded from the result adding that rather than confessing for their sins, his detractors went ahead with a campaign of calumny and was taken to high heavens and summarized that “we suffered for eight months moving from the lower Court to the Court of Appeal and finally the Supreme Court where the final verdict came in his favour”.

The governor used the opportunity to thank the independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, all security agencies that monitored the election for displaying transparency during the exercise despite blackmails that rented the air.
