Football enthusiasts in Umuihi Ihinna are set for weeks of exciting action as Sir High Chief PMC Okeke, CEO of Ave International Football Club, sponsors the Umuihi Ihinna Unity Cup 2026.
The tournament, which begins on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Ihitte/Uboma Township Stadium, will feature five communities: Umuokoro, Umuelem, Umuowishi, Odonaezeokwa, and Diabanachiala.
Organized to foster unity, sportsmanship, and youth development, the competition carries the theme: “One People, One Goal, One Victory.” Matches will kick off promptly at 4:00 p.m. throughout the tournament, which will run until August 25, 2026.
Speaking on the initiative, Sir High Chief PMC Okeke emphasized that the Unity Cup is designed to strengthen community bonds, discover football talents, and promote peaceful coexistence among the participating communities.
The organizers have called on residents to turn out in large numbers to support their teams and celebrate the spirit of unity through football, as Ihitte Uboma Local Government Chairman Hon. Prince Obioha Ndukwe is expected to kick off the epoch football tournament
