…Speaks on the need to raise Children in Tradition
Lady Blessing Nwaoba, popularly known as Lady B, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly flag bearer for Ihitte Uboma State Constituency in the 2027 general elections, has called on women to take the lead in promoting and preserving the rich culture and traditions of the people.
Lady B made the call on Tuesday while speaking at the 2026 grand finale of the Ihitte Uboma Women August Meeting, held at the Ihitte Uboma Local Government Council Headquarters, Isinweke. She stressed the need for mothers to deliberately teach their children the values, customs and traditions of the land.
According to her, women occupy a strategic position in the upbringing of children and, therefore, have a major role to play in ensuring that the cultural heritage of Ihitte Uboma is not lost to modern influences. She urged mothers to make cultural education an important part of raising the next generation.
She described the August Meeting as an important annual gathering that goes beyond celebration, noting that it provides an opportunity for women to reflect on the wellbeing and progress of their families, communities and the state at large.
«“August Meeting is a time for us to discuss the progress of our families, communities and the state at large,” Lady B said, while encouraging the women to use the platform to promote unity, development and peaceful coexistence.
She further urged the women of Ihitte Uboma to remain united and continue to contribute positively to the development of their communities, stressing that the preservation of culture, strong family values and collective responsibility remain essential to building a better future for the younger generation.
