PMC Okeke Kicks Off Football Tournament in Honour of Late Mother

High Chief Sir PMC Okeke has kicked off a grassroots football tournament in honour of his late mother, Late Nneoma Grace Okeke, as part of efforts to promote youth development and community unity through sports.

 

 

The tournament, tagged Ave Grass & Glory Competition, is powered by Ave International Football Club, Isinweke, and is taking place at the Isinweke Township Field on February,14,2026.

 

The competition brings together grassroots football clubs from across the area to celebrate the spirit of the game while honouring the life and legacy of the late matriarch.

 

Speaking at the kickoff ceremony, organizers described the tournament as a tribute to the values of love, discipline, and community service embodied by Late Nneoma Grace Okeke.

 

They noted that the initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing young talents and providing positive opportunities for youths through football.

 

The competition is also expected to serve as a talent discovery platform, with scouting agents in attendance to identify and recruit promising players for higher opportunities in the sport.

 

Community leaders, football stakeholders, and sports enthusiasts have commended High Chief Sir PMC Okeke for using sports as a tool for remembrance, unity, and grassroots development.

 

The Ave Grass & Glory Competition is expected to run for several days, with exciting matches lined up as participating teams compete for honours.
