At the Mbaitoli Council Headquarters Nwaorieubi, on Tuesday, during a stakeholders/town hall meeting organised by the Council Chairman, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo, in line with the Shared Prosperity Agenda of the Governor Uzodimma led administration, the good people of Mbaitoli passed a vote of confidence on the performing Governor of Imo state, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON and his Deputy Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, PhD.
The Vote of confidence was moved by the Leader, Mbaitoli Legislative Council, Hon. Frank Onyeji, seconded by the Councilor representing Ogwa ward 1, Hon. Sopuru Nwokoro and unanimously voted in affirmation by all the stakeholders present.

The vote of confidence passed on the Governor and his Deputy was due the glaring laudable achievements of the Shared Prosperity Administration, the power and confidence given to the grassroots and the positive policies, programmes and initiatives of the Governor, that only signify an assured future for Imolites.
The Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, PhD, in her address, thanked the people of Mbaitoli for their solidarity and support to the Governor Uzodimma’s led administration in the state, especially, the overwhelming confidence reposed in the Governor and herself, promising that their administration will continue to deliver democratic dividends in all facets.
The Deputy Governor specially appreciated Governor Hope Uzodimma for his swift execution of the supreme court judgment on local government administration by ensuring the conduct of the most peaceful, freest and fairest council elections in the history of democracy in the state.
In her words, “Our distinguished Governor has brought democracy to the grassroots. Through the chairmen and councilors, good initiatives of the Governor will now trickle down to the wards and communities ceaselessly.
“He has also prioritised the construction of our rural roads to aid not only the movement of people and commuters but also, the easy conveyance of farm produce from the rural communities to the markets and urban cities. To this end, the Governor has approved the construction of three rural roads in each of the 305 wards of the state”.
“We must remain proud of ourselves, our government and institutions of governance. We must also refrain from casting aspersions on our leaders, maligning and disparaging the government or spreading propagandas, that we all know, are counterproductive. We should rather love, pray and support our leaders and government at all levels, for every authority and leadership come from God.
“I have listened to you, heard your worries and expectations, so, be assured that all our dreams and aspirations will come to pass, as Governor Hope Uzodimma means well for all of us”
On the Government’s “One Kindred, One Business” initiative, the Deputy Governor, encouraged the people of Mbaitoli to key into the programme immediately, without any hesitation and be positive about it, as she once again, align herself completely with all the policies, initiatives and programmes of the Governor, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma.
The Local government chairman, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo, in his speech, lauded the Governor Hope Uzodimma’s sterling administratives qualities, charismatic leadership and loud achievements in the state, as he also appreciated the Governor for offering him, other chairmen and the councilors a glorious opportunity to serve the people, through the conduct of a peaceful local government elections on 21st September, 2024.
The Apex Leader of Mbaitoli All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Dee Macon), in his speech called for continued support for the Governor and his administration, noting that, more developmental projects and initiatives are on the way.
The Technical Adviser to the Chief Economic Adviser, Government House, Owerri, Mrs Jovita Agwu, in her advocacy for One Kindred, One Business (OKOBI) initiative model of entrepreneurship, championed by the Imo state Governor, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, encouraged the men, women and youths, to take advantage of the initiative to empower themselves and their communities, emphasising that, OKOBI offers great opportunities for self and community development, as she also asked groups to form cooperatives to enjoy the maximum benefits of the business initiative.
The President General of Ihitte Mbieri, Hon. Egejuru and a prominent woman leader in the local government, Mrs Stella Akuwudike, while lending their support to, and expressing their interest in OKOBI, demanded for soft loans and grants in addition to the already opportunities in OKOBI and a continued improvement in the security of farms for safe and maximum production.
