Omapitch Set to Host 5th Anniversary Talent Hunt in 2026
Popular Imo State–born classical and opera singer, Chioma Igbojekwe, popularly known as Omapitch, has announced plans to host the 2026 edition of the Omapitch Challenge, marking five years since the talent hunt was introduced to support emerging classical musicians.
The Omapitch Challenge 2026 (5 Years Anniversary Edition) will feature competitive cash prizes, with winners set to receive:
1st Prize: ₦300,000
2nd Prize: ₦200,000
3rd Prize: ₦100,000
4th Prize: ₦50,000
Special awards will also be presented for Best Tenor, Best Soprano, Best Bass, and Best Alto, while additional prize categories will be unveiled as preparations progress.
Omapitch noted that prize values may increase depending on sponsorship support, calling on individuals and organizations passionate about music and the arts to partner with the initiative. According to her, the annual challenge is part of her commitment to nurturing and promoting classical and opera music talents within the Nigerian creative space.
