The Grand President of the Knights of St. John International (KSJI), Port Harcourt Commandery, Sir PMC Okeke, has been honoured as a Patron in recognition of his commitment to the service of God, the Church and humanity.
The recognition was presented during the 16th National Choir Conference, Owerri 2026, organised by the National Catholic Music Council of Nigeria (NACAMCON), which held from August 19 to 22, 2026, with the opening Mass celebrated on August 20 at the Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, Imo State.
Receiving the honour on behalf of Sir PMC Okeke was the Managing Director of Ave International Football Club, Mr. FIFA Ovuegbe, who was accompanied by the Managing Editor of IKoro Okigwe Newspaper, Iheanyi Enwerem.
The conference, themed “Echoes of Faith; Restoring the Timeless Voice of Catholic Worship,” brought together members of the Catholic Church and stakeholders in sacred music to celebrate and promote the role of music in Catholic worship.
Speaking after receiving the recognition, Mr. Ovuegbe described Sir PMC Okeke as a man who has committed his life, family and business to the service of God and humanity.
He recalled Sir Okeke’s longstanding support for the association, particularly his role in championing various competitions and hosting events in honour of the organisation in Okigwe, Imo State.
Ovuegbe said the recognition was a testament to Sir Okeke’s consistent commitment to supporting activities that promote faith, music, fellowship and service within the Catholic community.
In his response, Sir PMC Okeke expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged to continue supporting the group and other initiatives that advance the work of God and promote unity and service among the faithful.
The 16th National Choir Conference provided a platform for participants to reflect on the importance of Catholic music and its enduring role in deepening faith and worship.
