Residents of Ezumezu Isinweke and neighboring communities in Ihitte/Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State benefitted from a free comprehensive medical outreach organized by the Ezumezu Isinweke Welfare Association in partnership with RCN Medical Center.
The medical mission, which took place at the Ezumezu Club House along Lowa Road, Isinweke, was part of activities leading to the 10th anniversary celebration of the association scheduled for December 2026.
The outreach provided a wide range of free healthcare services aimed at improving the well-being of community members. Beneficiaries received general medical consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, eye screening, minor medical procedures, and laboratory investigations.
Other services offered during the exercise included health education and counseling, maternal and child healthcare services, drug dispensing, public health awareness campaigns, and referral services for cases requiring advanced medical attention.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, the President of the popular South East Social Cultural group, Chief Ifeanyi Igwe,(Anyi South), said the outreach was designed to promote healing, hope, compassion, and restoration while ensuring access to quality healthcare for residents, particularly the vulnerable and underserved.
The initiative also underscored the association’s commitment to community development and healthy living, with the theme emphasizing the need to build healthier communities for a stronger future.
The event was supported by community leaders, including the President of Ezumezu, Engr. Innocent Enwenanou, Chief Ifeanyi Igwe, and Rev. Dr. Chukwudi Okebaram, who is also the Managing Director of RCN Medical Center.
Participants commended the organizers for bringing healthcare services closer to the people and called for the sustenance of such humanitarian interventions to improve healthcare access in rural communities.
