The initiative comes on the heels of what the Governor described as significant progress in restoring peace and stability in the area. The committee’s assignment covers affected communities within Okigwe, Onuimo, and Ehime Mbano Local Government Areas.

Chaired by His Eminence, Dr. Samuel C. Kanu Uche, Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, the committee is made up of respected leaders from across the Okigwe Senatorial Zone. Its mandate includes assessing the extent of damage, engaging relevant stakeholders, and recommending practical, actionable steps toward a comprehensive, government-driven rehabilitation programme.

Governor Uzodimma reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to the security, safety, and welfare of Imo citizens, emphasizing that the protection of lives and property remains a foremost priority of his government.

In his acceptance speech Methodist Church Prelate Emeritus Dr. Samuel Uche, promised the Governor that the committee will work with speed to ascertain areas affected following the 30-days deadline.
