The people of Umuihi community in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State, have decided to embark on electricity expansion programme tagged “Project Light up Umuihi”.
This entails fixing electricity lights on major roads and entrances to ward off incessant criminality, especially at nights.
In a statement by the traditional prime minister of Umuihi community Chief Ikechukwu Igwe, it will enhance the aesthetic value of major roads and streets at nights.
To actualize this, we solicit your donations in cash or material for work. By our estimate we require about 141 electric poles. We strongly believe is achievable under the spirit of “Ibu Anyi danda”.
We assure that all donations and contributions will be properly accounted for and with utmost transparency. One can donate a street light or as many as he/she can afford.
To cut cost we have decide to use some of the existing electric poles.
Leading the Project is Chief Ikechukwu Igwe and other Eminent Personalities of Ndi Umuihi both at home and in Diaspora.
